Here are somethings I learned about both of them....
Charlie:
Is a very good eater. Likes soups, bread, and apple peeled and sliced.
Is a good sleeper. Sucks his fingers when he sleeps
Can dress himself, feed himself
Likes to do puzzles. (Hmm..havn't seen that one yet)
Is NOT interested in potty training (Bummer)
Levi:
Is a good eater. Likes soups, bread, cookies:)
Is a good sleeper but rolls around a lot(?) not sure what she meant
Wears pampers all the time
I also asked if the boys both understand that they are leaving and going HOME with me and the nannies said that they completely understand:)

Our boys have been blessed to be in an orphanage where they are taken care of well. Where the conditions are nice and clean and they are fed well and clean. Where they each have shoes & a warm coat to wear. Not all orphanages are like this:( We were amazed at how well taken care of the boys were. HOWEVER, they are still not held, not hugged, and still DO NOT have Mommy's & Daddy's:( So many sweet faces longing to be taken HOME to a loving family! Charlie & Levi will be the 7th & 8th child to be taken HOME from this orphanage in the past 3 months!!!! The Staff is overwhelmed at how many Loving parents are coming for these kids. Let's not stop. Consider bringing home an orphan to your home. Make a difference for that ONE child!!!

How neat to get an insight to their lives in the orphanage! Before Joel left, we asked if we could see the inside of Darya's and they wouldn't let us. Darya's seems to be fairly nice, but even the "nicest" orphanage is nothing compared to the love of a family and a home to call your own!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks a LOT like Micah's. Definitely a couple of the "better" orphanages, if you can call them that.
ReplyDeleteAs for rolling around at night... LOL!!! This is SO Micah AND Abby! They sleep in about 50 different positions at night. They are so "busy" while they're sleeping that if you put a camera in their rooms, you might not know they were actually asleep! The DS wants to do sleep studies on both of them because of this. If this is what the caregivers were referring to- good luck, lol!
Wow your boys were so lucky. I have seen some pics. Have a safe flight home.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have those pic to be able to share with the boys someday if you chose to do so. I am praying with you and counting down the days!!! Lots of love from me and my entire family!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting these Wendy! We were supposed to have taken a tour of the kids' rooms, but didn't end up having time at the end, things moved so fast once we got the passports. I'm so happy to have these pictures for Peyton of where he lived for so long :) What a treasure!
ReplyDeletebtw, Peyton rolls around like crazy! He rolls from side to side and sucks his thumb to put himself to sleep, then is upside down and sideways all night long. Jessa is an acrobat at night. Every time I get the bright idea to bring one of them into our bed to sleep I end up regretting it. Even with teeny Mimi. You'd think there were 5 of her.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are great and so nice to see!! When we adopted from this orphanage back in 2004 they were refurbishing the entire place! The kids were temporarily housed in a nearby Children's Hospital which was very stark and un-childlike! So happy to see how nicely it turned out!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!! ....and congratulations on your two new beautiful boys!!! I've been enjoying following your adventure!
